Why does my vivoki not accumulate steps when I am working out?

The vivoki has sensors that are designed to detect natural movement like walking or running.

There are circumstances when an activity may be performed but step data may not increase. This is because enough movement has not been detected by the sensors to record a step. Additionally, the vivoki does not contain an internal gps receiver to detect distance traveled. The distance recorded is based upon steps taken.

If an adequate amount of movement is not detected, the vivoki will not record a step. It is also possible for the device to record steps due to inaccurate detection of movement.

The vivoki works very well at giving an overall snapshot of daily activity but there may be some instances in which the device may not function as intended.
